Natural herbal sex enhancers are harmful to heart
Herbal alternatives for prescription sex medications like Viagra are harmful to your heart. They could even cause serious heart problems like stroke. Most of these natural sex enhancers are not really herbal drugs but unregulated poor compositions of prescription medicines. According to researchers, 90% of herbal medicines (natural sex enhancers), contain irregular quantities of prescriptive drugs for erectile dysfunction. According to Pfizer research, 70% of these herbal sex enhancers contain significant quantities of Sildenafil Citrate. Even heavily researched prescriptive sex medications like Viagra, Cialis or Levitra are causing heart problems. No one should use any sex enhancer without physician’s advice. FDA received reports of serious adverse side effects like irreversible erection, severe headache, vision problems and spontaneous nose bleeding. Most of these drugs slow blood flow to genital organs along with heart leading to stroke. When these drugs coupled with nitrates (blood pressure drugs), it will lead to catastrophic results. More than 5 million Americans are taking nitrates either for blood pressure or sexual dysfunction. According to Nutrition Business Journal, market for natural sex enhancers has grown from $ 100 million to $ 400 million just within 5 years. Internet is providing ideal opportunity to market these herbal sex enhancers to its target group by advertising in porn sites. It is almost impossible to monitor these sites and ads. Cheap rates of these herbal sex stimulants are another advantage. Unlike prescription medications, these herbal medications are released into markets without proper research. But sexual dysfunction drugs like Sildenafil underwent several clinical trials before allowing for prescription. FDA was recently authorised to recall any dangerous medication whether it is prescriptive one or herbal drug. Government should give more powers to FDA to eradicate this growing menace. Media should educate people on the adverse effects of drug usage without physician’s advice. Health advice: Never use drugs without doctor’s advice. … [Read more...]
FDA approved Isentress for AIDS
U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Merck’s Isentress (Raltegravir) for AIDS treatment. Isentress is an oral Integrase inhibitor, first in its class against HIV. FDA approved for Isentress use in combination with other antiretroviral agents for the treatment of HIV-1 infection. Isentress (400 mg) is a single tablet taken twice daily. Isentress can only control virus levels in the blood but can’t prevent transmission. Even though, Isentress showed good results in 80% of patients but its high price will limit its use. FDA approved after observing 24-week analysis data of clinical trials in 700 patients who are resistant to most anti-HIV medications. Mechanism of action of Isentress: Isentress is the first drug to be approved by FDA which works by inhibiting the insertion of HIV DNA into human DNA by the Integrase enzyme and limits the ability of the virus to replicate and infect new cells. Other drugs work by inhibiting Protease and Reverse Transcriptase enzymes. Isentress should always be prescribed in combination with other HIV drugs but not alone. Side effects of Isentress: Diarrhea is the most common side effect while nausea, headache and fever are other side effects. Myopathy and Rhabdomyolysis are rare adverse reactions with Isentress use. In America: More than 1 million Americans are living with AIDS and around 50,000 new cases are diagnosed each year. Worldwide: Around 40 million people are infected with HIV and 4.3 million new cases are diagnosed each year. 65% of these cases are reported from Sub-Saharan Africa. More than 3 million people died due to AIDS in 2006, according to World Health organization. I hope Merck will lower Isentress price to affordable level for the benefit of poor people. … [Read more...]
