Sexual activity and prostate cancer link

  Young men who are sexually active in their 20s and 30s are at high risk of developing prostate cancer, according to a research study by Nottingham University. They conducted research study on the sex or masturbation habits of men when they were young. Those men who are more sexually active in their young life had more chances of getting prostate cancer in their later life. This research study was published in the journal BJU International.   Surprise finding:   Masturbation increases prostate cancer risk in their 20s and reduces cancer risk in their 50s.   Researchers asked these men about their sexual habits and the number of sexual partners. 40% of prostate cancer patients have 5-6 female sexual partners. 59% of men said that they had engaged in sexual activity 12 times a month or more in their 20s.   Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers in men especially in old age. Those who have higher sex hormone levels (testosterone) will have high sex drive and have higher chances of developing prostate cancer. Erectile Dysfunction: early indicator of heart disease

  Erectile dysfunction (ED) is significant as it is an early indicator of underlying vascular disease. Erectile dysfunction or Impotence which is generally caused by decreased blood flow to the penis is generally an early indicator of coronary artery disease. ED is a strong risk factor for underlying heart disease. This research study was published in the Archives of Internal Medicine.   Impotence is an sex problem in which man failed to keep erection to satisfy the needs of the female partner. Around 25 million American men are suffering from Erectile Dysfunction. 10% of men are suffering from impotence all over the world but few are getting treatment. ED severly impacts man's ego and most of them never share this erection problem with anyone.   But according to new research studies, sex is not as dangerous as many think in heart failure patients. But these patients lose interest in sex mainly due to depression and drug side effects.   Regular exercise and staying away from smoking and alcohol drinking may help to get relief from erectile dysfunction. Impotence severly impacts man's self confidence thereby causes depression which again impacts sex life. Psychotherapy plays vital role in treating these patients.     Smoking is another major risk factor for Erectile Dysfunction.       Erectile Dysfunction is not only caused by vascular disease but also due to neurological and physiological factors. But every ED patient should be evaluated for heart disease especially coronary artery disease. Childbirth, depression affects sex life

  Psychiatric disorders like depression, eating disorders like Anorexia Nervosa and childbirth affect a woman’s sex life, according to a small research study by New Zealand scientists. According to these research findings published in the “International Journal of Eating Disorders”, women have more frequent sex when they have these eating and psychiatric disorders but they face problems during sex. According to researchers, impact of child birth on sex life is different from psychiatric disorders.   The researchers studied the responses from 76 women of which 10 women are anorexic and 24 women are suffering from major depression. All the women were married and 42 women had given birth within the past 2 months.   Even though, Women in the post natal group didn’t have any problems during sex, they had less frequent sex. Sex habits of American couples

  MSNBC recently conducted a survey on sexual habits of American men and women. According to the survey, more couples are not leading happy sex life due to inhibitions and lack of self esteem. They failed to satisfy the sexual needs of their partners due to lack of self-confidance.   Highlights of sex survey:   1. 20% of women rated sexual skills of their partner as average or worse.   2. 80% of men are open to suggestions on sexual talents.   3. Skills of partner are improved when they received feedback on their sex skills.   4. It is better to give feedback in the bed room even though psychologists are against it.   5. Males are not spending enough time on foreplay.   6. Both males and females want praise from partner on their sex capabilities.   Most common sex problems of men:       1. Erection time – 30% of men are facing this problem. Women hate if you can’t stay longer.     2. Sizes of the penis – Males with small size penis are insecure.     3. Overweight and struggle to reach orgasm are women’s common problems.         How to improve sex life:         1. Ask what you need without hesitation.     2. Praise your partner on his/her sex talent.     3. Give necessary suggestions in subtle manner.     4. Spend more time on foreplay.     5. Spend more time on talking and share your emotions with partner.     6. Take psychologist counseling if necessary.     7. Frequently change place, time and mode to avoid routine sex life.     8.
